Introduction: Primary liver cancer (PLC) occupied the 6th and 3rd place in the world respectively in terms of incidence and mortality in 2020. The objective of this work was to study the survival and prognostic factors of primary liver cancer from 2014 to 2020 in Cotonou.
Materials And Methods: This retrospective cohort study included 150 patients registered with primary liver cancer, in the database of the Cotonou Cancer Registry, over a seven-years period from 01/01/2014 to 12/31/2020.
Introduction: Diabetes and chronic liver diseases such as viral hepatitis C (HVC) are global public health problems. The combination of the 2 increases the risk of cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate viral hepatitis C in adult diabetics in referral health centers in Cotonou.
Introduction: The increasing incidence and high mortality of colorectal cancer (CRC) make it a major public health concern in developing countries.
Objective: The aim of this work was to study the epidemiological, diagnostic, therapeutic, and prognostic aspects of colorectal cancers from 2013 to 2023 in Cotonou.
Methods: This was a descriptive, analytical study with retrospective data collection, covering CRC patients managed in specialized centers in Cotonou (university clinics of visceral surgery, internal medicine and hepatogastroenterology at CNHU-HKM and the Cotonou Cancer Center).
Background: 10 million people are chronically infected with the hepatitis C virus (HCV) in sub-Saharan Africa. The assessment of viral genotypes and treatment response in this region is necessary to achieve the WHO target of worldwide elimination of viral hepatitis by 2030. We aimed to investigate the prevalence of HCV genotypes and outcomes of treatment with direct-acting antiviral agents in Benin, a country with a national HCV seroprevalence of 4%.
