Oxylipins are signaling lipids derived from the oxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). In lipidomic studies, human plasma may be subjected to various storage conditions and freeze-thaw cycles, which may impact the analysis of these compounds. In this study, we used liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to examine the influence of up to five freeze-thaw cycles (FTCs) on free and total (mostly esterified) oxylipins in human plasma and the influence of temperature and storage duration (4 °C for up to 120 h and -20 °C and -80 °C for 1-98 days) in the presence or absence of butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) on extracted oxylipins stored in LC-MS amber vials.

Macrophages in the B cell lymphoma microenvironment represent a functional node in progression and therapeutic response. We assessed metabolic regulation of macrophages in the context of therapeutic antibody-mediated phagocytosis. Pentose phosphate pathway (PPP) inhibition induces increased phagocytic lymphoma cell clearance by macrophages in vitro, in primary human chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) patient co-cultures, and in mouse models.

We report the first application of broadband time-resolved pump-probe ellipsometry to study the ultrafast dynamics of the photoinduced insulator-to-metal transition (IMT) in vanadium dioxide (VO) thin films driven by 35 fs laser pulses. This novel technique enables the direct measurement of the time-resolved evolution of the complex pseudodielectric function of VO during the IMT. We have identified distinct thermal and nonthermal dynamics in the photoinduced IMT, which critically depends on the pump wavelength and fluence, while providing a detailed temporal and spectral phase map.

Introduction: Approximately 25 % of diabetic patients develop diabetic foot ulcers (DFUs), significantly increasing morbidity, mortality, and healthcare costs. Effective control and prevention are crucial.

Objective: This study aims to identify easily measurable parameters for predicting DFU risk by assessing the correlation between Phase Angle (PA) and the Triglyceride-Glucose (TyG) index with DFU risk.

This study aimed to elucidate the genetic causes underlying the juvenile parkinsonism (JP) diagnosed in a girl with several family members diagnosed with spinocerebellar ataxia type 2 (SCA2). To achieve this, whole-exome sequencing, analysis of CAG repeats, RNA sequencing analysis on fibroblasts, and metabolite identification were performed. As a result, a homozygous missense mutation SNP T>C (rs2254562) in synaptojamin 1 (SYNJ1), which has been implicated in the regulation of membrane trafficking in the synaptic vesicles, was identified.
