Objective: Podcasts are increasingly utilized as educational tools within emergency medicine (EM). As EM residency programs seek to incorporate asynchronous educational material, it is important to ensure we are covering the full breadth of EM core content. This study sought to describe the distribution of EM core content among three popular EM podcasts.

Diversity begets diversity: Factors contributing to emergency medicine residency gender diversity.

Background: Although the number of women entering medical school and emergency medicine (EM) residencies has increased, female physicians are still proportionally underrepresented in EM. The goal of this study was to determine if there was a relationship between resident gender and program leadership gender.

Methods: A survey of residency leadership and residents was completed, and multivariate factor analysis was performed.

RADI: a low-rank ADI-type algorithm for large scale algebraic Riccati equations.

This paper introduces a new algorithm for solving large-scale continuous-time algebraic Riccati equations (CARE). The advantage of the new algorithm is in its immediate and efficient low-rank formulation, which is a generalization of the Cholesky-factored variant of the Lyapunov ADI method. We discuss important implementation aspects of the algorithm, such as reducing the use of complex arithmetic and shift selection strategies.
