Did Michelangelo paint a young adult woman with breast cancer in "The Flood" (Sistine Chapel, Rome)?

The Flood is the first pictorial scene that Michelangelo Buonarroti painted on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican. On the right side of the fresco a woman with abnormal breast morphology is presented and the nature of her disease is considered using the Guidelines for Iconodiagnosis. A team of experts covering art history, art expertise, medicine, genetics, and pathology undertook the process and concluded that the pathology shown is probably breast cancer, most likely linked to the symbolic significance of an inevitable death as expressed in the Book of Genesis.

Introduction: Acquired von Willebrand syndrome (AVWS) is a rare haemorrhagic disorder. The prophylaxis and treatment of bleeding before surgery are complex. Since 2018, a new recombinant VWF (rVWF) concentrate that contains no factor VIII (FVIII) but a high amount of high molecular weight VWF multimers has been available in France.

A universal and constant rate of gene content change traces pangenome flux to LUCA.

Prokaryotic genomes constantly undergo gene flux via lateral gene transfer, generating a pangenome structure consisting of a conserved core genome surrounded by a more variable accessory genome shell. Over time, flux generates change in genome content. Here, we measure and compare the rate of genome flux for 5655 prokaryotic genomes as a function of amino acid sequence divergence in 36 universally distributed proteins of the informational core (IC).
