Background: Up to 50% of clinical recurrences after curative-intent prostate cancer radiation are intraprostatic radiorecurrences (IPRR). Salvage local therapy (SLT) is increasingly offered, particularly as focal SLT, to reduce toxicity due to prior radiation. Limited data exist on the relative value of MRI, PET/CT, and biopsy on SLT target delineation.

Additionally, the current paradigm that global Ca2+ release (Ca2+ waves) arises from interacting local events (Ca2+ sparks) faces a key issue that these events rarely activate neighboring sites.

Induced craving frequently leads to relapse in patients with a history of opioid use disorder (OUD). Quantifying the physiological manifestations of craving can enable caregivers of patients with OUD to continuously monitor craving and thus help inform treatment plans. Heart rate variability (HRV) is a promising candidate to capture the trends in such manifestations due to the ease of measuring changes in heartbeat intervals using the electrocardiogram.

Background: Low-calorie sweeteners (LCS) are popular sugar substitutes and have been shown to alter the gut microbiota, which raises concerns about potential impacts on intestinal permeability.

Objectives: To examine cross-sectional associations between LCS consumption and circulating biomarkers of intestinal permeability.

Methods: We analyzed data from 572 U.
