Objectives: Few studies have analyzed potential inequities in both pediatric patient safety events (PSEs) and adverse events (AEs) - PSEs leading to harm - nor in PSEs by event type. We sought to examine potential inequities in rates of pediatric PSEs overall, by severity, and by category based on race and ethnicity, insurance payor, and language as measured using voluntary incident reports (IRs).

Methods: We conducted a retrospective cohort study of pediatric hospitalizations between January 19, 2012 through December 31, 2019 at a US urban, tertiary care children's hospital.

In this paper we investigate the interconnection between vacancy-ordered phases and vacancy self-diffusion. Here, we investigate three ordered phases on a square lattice with energetics defined by two separate Hamiltonians. In the first case we used a classical antiferromagnetic Ising model Hamiltonian in order to generate a 'checkerboard' type ordered structure.

Objectives: Data on inpatient safety are documented by hospital staff through incident reporting (IR) systems. Safety observations from families or patients are rarely captured. The Family Input for Quality and Safety (FIQS) study created a mobile health tool for pediatric patients and their families to anonymously report safety observations in real time during hospitalization.

To study the SARS-CoV-2 transmission potential in Rhode Island (RI) and its association with policy changes and mobility changes, the time-varying reproduction number, R, was estimated. The daily incident case counts (16 March 2020, through 30 November 2021) were bootstrapped within a 15-day sliding window and multiplied by Poisson-distributed multipliers (λ = 4, sensitivity analysis: 11) to generate 1000 estimated infection counts, to which EpiEstim was applied to generate R time series. The median R percentage change when policies changed was estimated.

Objective: Despite three decades of effort, ensuring inpatient safety remains elusive. Patients and family members are a potential source of safety observations, but systems gathering these are limited.
