Introduction. Echocardiographic measurement of inferior vena cava diameters and collapsibility index (IVCCI) can estimate right heart chamber function and intravascular volume status. Few reports of reference values for diameters and IVCCI in the pediatric population exist.

Background: Trisomy of the short arm of chromosome 9 (9p) is the fourth most common chromosomopathy. It is a partial or complete autosomal structural anomaly of the short arm of chromosome 9. This study aims to compare meibomian gland (MG) dropout and MG dysfunction (MGD) between patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) with moderate-severe non-proliferative diabetic retinopathy (NPDR) and patients with no diabetes (NDM). This prospective, transversal, age, and gender-matched case-control study included 98 DM and 106 NDM eyes. Dry eye disease (DED) and MGD evaluations were performed, including meibography (Keratograph 5M).

Congenital CMV is a leading cause of neurological sequelae, developmental delay and birth defects worldwide. Cytomegalovirus can be transmitted to the foetus following maternal infection or reactivation.
