While there is a robust literature examining the patterns and causes of teacher turnover, few articles to date have critically examined the measures of turnover used in these studies. Yet, an assessment of the way turnover is measured is important, as the measures become the means by which the "problem" of turnover becomes defined and its varying dimensions understood. In this conceptual essay, we outline a typology of teacher turnover measures, discussing both measures used in existing teacher turnover literature as well as new measures that we have developed.

Gastric xanthelasma is a benign condition that must be differentiated from early carcinoma. The first descriptions of this condition appeared in the literature >100 yr ago but, to date, no adequate photographs of the gross endoscopic appearance have been published. With the hope of increasing awareness of this condition, we report a case of gastric xanthelasma in a patient with previous partial gastrectomy and review the existing literature.

The first use of an overtube to assist endoscopy was described more than 20 years ago. Since then a number of uses of overtubes have been described, but relatively few complications have been reported. We report a case of esophageal perforation caused by overtube insertion during endoscopic band ligation of varices.
