Achieving Gross Total Resection in Neurosurgery: A Review of Intraoperative Techniques and Their Influence on Surgical Goals.

The definition of complete resection in neurosurgery depends on tumor type, surgical aims, and postoperative investigations, directly guiding the choice of intraoperative tools. Most common tumor types present challenges in achieving complete resection due to their infiltrative nature and anatomical constraints. The development of adjuvant treatments has altered the balance between oncological aims and surgical risks.

[Coexistence of a disc herniation and psoas hematoma revealed by L3 deficiency].

Radiculopathy is a constellation of symptoms secondary to a pathology affecting the nerve root, the most frequent cause of which is a herniated intervertebral disc. We report a case of a 58-year-old man under anticoagulant admitted to the neurosurgery department of Lariboisière hospital (Paris) for an L3 motor deficit that occurred progressively over a period of 24 hours with an L3-L4 disc herniation on the MRI. However, a psoas hematoma was also noted.

The endoscopic endonasal approach to cranio-cervical junction: the complete panel.

We aim to establish a complete summary on the Endoscopic Endonasal Approach (EEA) to Cranio Cervical Junction (CCJ): evolution since first description, criteria to predict the feasibility and limitations, anatomical landmarks, indications and biomechanical evaluation after performing the approach. A comprehensive literature search to identify all available literature published between March 2002 and June 2015, the articles were divided into four categories according to their main purpose: 1- surgical technique, 2- anatomical landmarks and limitations, 3- literature reviews to identify main indications, 4- biomechanical studies. Thereafter, we demonstrate the approach step-by-step, using 1 fresh and 3 silicon injected embalmed cadaveric specimen heads.

[Epidemiological aspects of spinal traumas: about 139 cases].

Spinal trauma is one of the most common types of injuries among victims of traffic accidents, sports accidents, domestic accidents and workplace accidents. We conducted a 3-year retrospective study of 139 cases of spinal trauma hospitalized and treated in the Neurosurgery department of the CHUJRA, Madagascar. This study shows that 25.
