Goals: This study aimed to assess the seroprevalence of celiac disease in Mexican patients with autoimmune thyroid diseases, hypothesizing that prevalence would align with rates observed in other populations.

Background: The association between celiac disease and autoimmune thyroid diseases has been documented globally, with varying seroprevalence rates. Historically, Mexican Mestizos were considered at low risk for celiac disease, yet recent findings suggest similar prevalence to other regions.

The potassium-competitive acid blockers (P-CABs) are a novel class of potent antisecretory drugs that unlike the proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are not dependent on activated proton pumps, acting near maximally from the first dose, a pharmacokinetic advantage over PPIs. Tegoprazan, a novel P-CAB, offers potent and rapid acid suppression without delaying gastric emptying, distinguishing it from PPIs. This commentary contextualizes these results within the broader landscape of functional dyspepsia management, highlighting the potential benefits of tegoprazan in patients requiring antisecretory therapy, emphasizing the need for further research into its long-term impacts on motility, gut microbiota composition, and symptomatology.

Background: The treatment of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) has focused on the control of comorbidities. (SM) and alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) have shown antioxidant and adjuvant effects on the control of metabolic disorders.

Aim: To evaluate whether the SM-ALA formulation (LUDLEV), in combination with the Mediterranean diet (MD), could improve MASLD-related liver injury.

This article examines the complex relationship between disease perception, negative emotions, and their impact on postoperative recovery in patients with perianal diseases. These conditions not only cause physical discomfort, but also carry a significant emotional burden, often exacerbated by social stigma. Psychological factors, including stress, anxiety, and depression, activate neuroendocrine pathways, such as the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis, disrupting the gut microbiota and leading to dysbiosis.
