Soundscape Preference of Urban Residents in China in the Post-pandemic Era.

This research aims to explore the reality of the soundscape preferences of Chinese urban residents in general public landscape in the post-pandemic era, and then to propose design recommendations to meet the practical needs of people's preferences for landscape-especially soundscapes-in the post-pandemic era. In this study, we utilized the subjective evaluation method to conduct an online questionnaire in 29 Chinese provinces which experienced severe pandemic caseloads and collected 860 valid responses. This study revealed people's preference for landscape and soundscape in the post-pandemic era.

Effect of a temporary lying position on cerebral hemodynamic and cerebral oxygenation parameters in patients with severe brain trauma.

Background: Temporary transition from the half-seated position (HSP) to the lying position (LyP) is often associated with an increase in intracranial pressure (ICP) during management of patients with severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). This study was designed to assess the impact of the temporary LyP on cerebral perfusion and oxygenation in cases of severe TBI.

Method: Patients with a severe blunt TBI with indication of ICP monitoring were prospectively included.

Background: The sensory innervation of the lower jaw mainly depends on the third root of the trigeminal nerve, the mandibular nerve (V3). The aim of this single-center, prospective, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study was to evaluate the effectiveness of bilateral V3 block for postoperative analgesia management in mandibular osteotomies.

Methods: 107 patients undergoing mandibular surgery (75 scheduled osteotomies and 32 mandible fractures) were randomized in two groups.

Serum Phosphate Kinetics in Acute Kidney Injury After Cardiac Surgery: An Observational Study.

Objective: Acute kidney injury (AKI) is a common complication after cardiac surgery and may affect prognosis. Serum phosphate (SPh) elevation is well-known to occur after AKI but not well-documented. The aim of the present study was to describe SPh changes during AKI after cardiac surgery and to assess the accuracy for the diagnosis of AKI severity and recovery.
