In this study, we examine how leaders' emotional labour strategies (surface acting and deep acting) deplete leaders' self-control resources to predict abusive supervision, in addition to the moderating role of leader mindfulness. Integrating ego-depletion theory and emotion regulation theory, we hypothesise that deep acting and surface acting predict higher levels of abusive supervision, which is mediated by reduced self-control. Furthermore, we predict that leaders' trait mindfulness moderates the relationship between emotional labour and self-control on abusive supervision.

Measuring the polydisperse beam of charged species emitted by an electrospray device requires accurate measurements of current. Secondary species emission (SSE) caused by high-velocity nanodroplet or molecular ion impacts on surfaces contributes to substantial uncertainty in current measurements. SSE consists of both positive and negative species; hence, mitigating measurement uncertainty requires different considerations other than plasma diagnostic techniques.

Accurate, direct measurement of thrust or impulse is one of the most critical elements of electric thruster characterization, and one of the most difficult measurements to make. This paper summarizes recommended practices for the design, calibration, and operation of pendulum thrust stands, which are widely recognized as the best approach for measuring N- to mN-level thrust and Ns-level impulse bits. The fundamentals of pendulum thrust stand operation are reviewed, along with the implementation of hanging pendulum, inverted pendulum, and torsional balance configurations.

A series of aromatic substituted diamines was synthesized and characterized for their cytotoxic profiles against human breast and prostate tumor cell lines. Following a structure function analysis of the effects of changes of the benzyl substituents and the distance between amino groups the most potent analogues were analyzed biologically and were shown to induce apoptosis. These compounds do not induce the enzyme SSAT or deplete intracellular polyamine levels, mechanisms demonstrated by other cytotoxic polyamine analogues.

A series of novel spermine dimer analogues was synthesized and assessed for their ability to inhibit spermidine transport into MDA-MB-231 breast carcinoma cells. Two spermine molecules were tethered via their N(1) primary amines with naphthalenedisulfonic acid, adamantanedicarboxylic acid and a series of aliphatic dicarboxylic acids. The linked spermine analogues were potent polyamine transport inhibitors and inhibited cell growth cytostatically in combination with a polyamine synthesis inhibitor.
