Cyanobacterial blooms sometimes create secondary metabolites that can be transferred between trophic levels and accumulate in fish, but little is known about what time of year fish are most susceptible. Here, we examine microcystin in the muscle, liver, and kidney of bluegill and largemouth bass from an agricultural reservoir over 12 months. We identify which fish characteristics and water parameters best explain microcystin accumulation in fish tissues.

Dams are finished on a high-concentrate diet and harvested before reaching 30 mo of age. Objectives of this research were to document reproductive, feedyard, calf, and carcass performance of an AHNC herd; evaluate effects of carcass maturity on carcass quality; and determine if performance of initial cohorts (i.

Purpose Of Review: The goal of this review is to summarize and discuss a thorough and effective manner in the evaluation of the patient with heart failure.
Recent Findings: Heart failure is a prevalent disease worldwide and while the diagnosis of heart failure has remained relatively unchanged via a careful history and physical examination, identification of the etiology of the heart failure and treatment has made significant advances. Mechanical circulatory support (MCS), neprilysin inhibitors, and chronic resynchronization therapy (CRT) are just some of the relatively recent therapies afforded to assist heart failure patients.
The objective of this research was to define and analyze drops in reticulo-rumen temperature (Trr) as an indicator of calving time in Holstein females. Data were collected from 111 primiparous and 150 parous Holstein females between November 2012 and March 2013. Between -15 and -5 d relative to anticipated calving date, each female received an orally administered temperature sensing reticulo-rumen bolus that collected temperatures hourly.
