Background: Medications targeting the glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) pathway are an important therapeutic class currently used for the treatment of Type 2 diabetes (T2D). However, there is not enough known about which subgroups of patients would receive the most benefit from these medications.

Objective: The goal of this study was to develop a predictive model for patient responsiveness to medications, here collectively called GLP-1 M, that include GLP-1 receptor agonists and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 (DPP4) inhibitors (that normally degrade endogenously-produced GLP-1).

The Plains Spotted Skunk () is a small carnivore native to central North America that has experienced significant population reductions, and there is a lack of information about the species that could inform conservation. Our study aimed to address knowledge gaps about the distribution and habitat associations of the species in South Dakota using species distribution modeling. We used species location data collected from state natural resource managers, trappers, and members of online social media groups dedicated to hunting and wildlife conservation; environmental predictors; and 6 predictive modeling algorithms (i.

Article Synopsis
  • A retrospective study assessed the effectiveness of contrast-enhanced T1-weighted 3D SPACE MRI sequences versus 3D FLASH sequences in detecting brain metastases in patients at a single institution.
  • The evaluation involved a review of cases where both imaging techniques were used, with assessments on factors like the number of lesions detected, image quality, and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) by certified neuroradiologists.
  • Results showed that SPACE detected more metastatic lesions and had better image quality and fewer artifacts than FLASH, supporting SPACE as the superior method for brain metastasis detection.

Article Synopsis
  • Parental provision of alcohol to minors is linked to negative outcomes, necessitating public health campaigns to address this issue through different messaging strategies.
  • This study compared a fear-based campaign with a first-person narrative campaign to see which was more effective in changing parents' intentions to provide alcohol to their children.
  • Both campaigns were successful in reducing intentions to supply alcohol, with varying effectiveness based on parents’ demographics, suggesting that tailored approaches are essential for future campaigns aimed at different parent groups.
