Corneal changes, hyperkeratosis, short stature, brachydactyly, and premature birth: a new autosomal dominant syndrome.

We report on an autosomal dominant syndrome consisting of unique corneal epithelial changes, diffuse palmoplantar hyperkeratosis, distal onycholysis, brachydactyly, short stature, premature birth, and dental problems. This condition has been present in seven persons in three generations of one family. Corneal biopsies demonstrate mild dysplastic changes in the epithelium.

Disseminated cutaneous sporotrichosis. Three illustrative cases.

Three cases of disseminated cutaneous sporotrichosis are reported, including a rare presentation of the disease as vesicular dermatitis. The diagnosis was confirmed by culture of a skin biopsy specimen, and all patients responded well to amphotericin B therapy. The sporotrichosis slide latex agglutination titer was used to determine the end point of therapy.

Mucous membrane involvement in generalized pustular psoriasis: Report of three cases and review of the literature.

Pustular eruptions on both skin and mucous membranes occur in the various forms of generalized pustular psoriasis. Three patients with generalized pustular psoriasis also had an eruption on the tongue resembling geographic tongue; one patient had sterile conjunctivitis. Histologically, the spongiform pustule of Kogoj is common to lesions of both skin and mucosa.

T and B lymphocyte subpopulations in children.

T and B lymphocyte subpopulations were examined in the peripheral blood of children using the E and EAC rosette assays. Children under 18 months of age were found to have a decreased percentage of E-binding (T) lymphocytes and an increased percentage of EAC-binding (B) lymphocytes compared to older children (18 months to 10 years) and adults. The absolute number of E-binding and EAC-binding lymphocytes was increased in children under 18 months of age.
