The mesostigmatid tropical rat mite, Ornithonyssus bacoti, is an important cause of disease in small rodents, and of gamasoidosis in humans when they come into contact with infestations. Most reports of O. bacoti infestations are from warmer parts of the Americas, southern Europe and Asia; and infection has only rarely been recorded in northern Europe.

Methods: Participants included 16 patients with end-stage HF recruited from the Heart Failure Clinic at Toronto General Hospital and 16 healthy individuals free of any known cardiovascular disease.
Background: Coccydynia is a condition characterized by pain and tenderness in the coccyx region of the spine. Chronic coccydynia (≥3-months) management remains a clinical challenge. Radiofrequency neurotomy (RFN) targeting the sacrococcygeal joint (SCJ) and/or 1st intercoccygeal joint (ICJ) margins has emerged as an alternative, minimally invasive intervention for refractory coccydynia.
