Published in 2003 by the Institute of Medicine, Unequal Treatment: Confronting Racial and Ethnic Disparities in Health Care placed an unprecedented spotlight on disparities in the U.S. health-care system.

The social vulnerability index (SVI), which measures geographic-level disadvantage and includes themes, such as socioeconomic status, minority status, and language, may partially explain disparities in THA use. Our objectives were to determine the association of the composite SVI with THA use for (1) White Medicare beneficiaries, (2) Black Medicare beneficiaries, and (3) the difference in THA use between White and Black beneficiaries.

Capillary-mediated vitrification has shown promise as a tool for improving biomolecule stability. In this study, we assess the feasibility of shipping and storing CMV-stabilized antibody reagents at ambient temperature using a purified rabbit polyclonal as a model system.

Methods: A total of 143 patients who underwent operative treated Mason Type III radial head fractures were analyzed retrospectively.
Introduction: Coronal Plane Alignment of the Knee (CPAK), is an informative way to classify native knee alignment types, but does not consider posterior tibial slope, an important variable in knee kinematics. We hypothesized that tibial slope would have a significant effect on knee kinematics and warrant consideration in addition to the CPAK system.
Methods: We examined 335 adult patients with osteoarthritis receiving total knee arthroplasty.
