Purpose: To investigate and compare the effects of the two widely used regenerative endodontics medicaments: Triple antibiotic paste (ciprofloxacine-metronidazole-clindamycin) and calcium hydroxide on the microhardness and degradation of human root dentin.

Methods: Following ethical approval and subject consent to use teeth in this research study, 60 singled-rooted permanent human teeth were randomly divided into six groups:(1) Tri-antibiotic paste with distilled water, or with (2) propylene glycol, (3) calcium hydroxide with distilled water, (4) calcium hydroxide propylene glycol, (5) untreated extracted teeth as negative controls, or (6) teeth instrumented and filled with calcium hydroxide or tri-antibiotic paste as positive controls. The microhardness tests were conducted after 1 and 2 months of exposure to the medicaments using a Vickers microhardness tester.

Aim: To determine the effect of active distraction when playing PlayStation® video games, compared to passive distraction when watching a cartoon with audiovisual eyeglasses, on parental perception of patients' anxiety, and children's anxiety, pain, behaviour and heart rate during restorative procedures in paediatric dentistry.

Materials And Methods: Study design: Randomised crossover clinical trial. There were 34 patients in the cartoon film group (passive distraction) and 34 in the Playstation® video game group (active distraction), aged 6-8 years, who required a minimum of 2 visits for restorative treatment.

On October 14-15, 2019, the 1st Symposium to Promote Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Research in Guatemala was held in Guatemala City, Guatemala. The Symposium hosted more than 50 attendees, including health care professionals, policy makers, researchers, and leaders of nongovernmental organizations. The meeting's objectives were to (1) share clinical and health delivery experiences, (2) disseminate local research, and (3) establish consensus priorities for future research.
