Quantifying lactulose and mannitol using LC-MS/MS in a clinical study of children with environmental enteric disease.

Dysfunction of the intestinal epithelium barrier (DIEB) is frequent and can lead to serious complications in early childhood when diagnosis and clinical intervention are limited, especially in children with environmental enteric disease and malnutrition. The use of refined analytical techniques is increasingly necessary in this context. This study aimed to validate the high-performance liquid chromatography method coupled with tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) to measure DIEB by lactulose:mannitol ratio detection (LM test) in samples of children with different social profiles from Fortaleza, Ceará.

Imaging Studies of the Stifle Joint in (Linnaeus, 1771).

Although the stifle joint of wild felines shares several characteristics observed in domestic cats, other characteristics are specific to each species. This study aimed to evaluate the stifle joints of eight , including two young and six adults, through different imaging examinations. All stifles were assessed using radiographs and computed tomography (CT).

Object: In insular glioma surgery, lenticulostriate arteries (LSTa) tumoral encasement increases neurological deficits risk despite intensive efforts to preserve the internal capsule's integrity. In this study, we focus on the LSTa relationships with the medial aspect of the insular tumors. We propose a new non-invasive method for LSTa involvement prediction in preoperative MRI (Porto Alegre Line).
