Aim: The mumps outbreak in the Plzeň Region in 2011 was analysed retrospectively using the epidemiological, clinical, and laboratory data. Vaccine efficacy analysis was also conducted in various population groups.

Between 1960-2005, 1,621 cases of tick-borne encephalitis were confirmed by laboratory testing in the region of West Bohemia (now the regions of Pilsen and Karlovy Vary) which represents a rate of infection of 4.1 per 100,000 inhabitants per year.
