Viral infections in plants are a big threat to agriculture and the economy. Though the viral infection mechanism is well documented, the cell-to-cell trafficking of the virus is poorly understood. The plant virus is known to encode movement protein (MP) for trafficking the virus from an infected cell to a healthy cell.

Lethargic, cutaneous haemorrhages; ocular lesions; discolouration of gill and cloudy eye and exophthalmia are common symptoms of TiPV. The TiPV-suspected tilapia fish were collected from grow-out ponds situated in different parts of Tamil Nadu, India, and screened for TiPV by PCR.

Here, the custom synthesized tyrosine appended perylene diimide (PDI-Tyr) derivative has shown strong aggregation in aqueous medium diminishing its emissive features, which was surpassed by the supramolecular interaction with β-cyclodextrin (β-CD). Complex formation between PDI-Tyr and β-CD, proposed from the absorption and emission studies, have been substantiated by the H-NMR, ITC and geometry optimization data.
