The application of stochastic differential equations (SDEs) to the analysis of temporal data has attracted increasing attention, due to their ability to describe complex dynamics with physically interpretable equations. In this paper, we introduce a nonparametric method for estimating the drift and diffusion terms of SDEs from a densely observed discrete time series. The use of Gaussian processes as priors permits working directly in a function-space view and thus the inference takes place directly in this space.

Objective: This paper aims to prove that automatic beat classification on ECG signals can be effectively solved with a pure knowledge-based approach, using an appropriate set of abstract features obtained from the interpretation of the physiological processes underlying the signal.
Methods: A set of qualitative morphological and rhythm features are obtained for each heartbeat as a result of the abductive interpretation of the ECG. Then, a QRS clustering algorithm is applied in order to reduce the effect of possible errors in the interpretation.

Continuous followup of heart condition through long-term electrocardiogram monitoring is an invaluable tool for diagnosing some cardiac arrhythmias. In such context, providing tools for fast locating alterations of normal conduction patterns is mandatory and still remains an open issue. This paper presents a real-time method for adaptive clustering QRS complexes from multilead ECG signals that provides the set of QRS morphologies that appear during an ECG recording.

To determine the association of tetracycline resistance determinants with tigecycline sensitivity, tetracycline-resistant Salmonella spp. isolated from clinical and food samples were tested for the presence of tetracycline resistance determinants, tigecycline sensitivity, and the impact of tetA on tigecycline resistance. In addition, the impacts of multiple resistance mechanisms on tigecycline resistance were determined using an isolate with ramR mutation.

Some of these indexes, such as the Apnea-Hypopnea Index, have been standardized and studied in depth in the literature. Other indexes are used extensively in the reports that commercial polysomnographs generate.
