Introduction: Enhancing the proficiency of healthcare workers (HCWs) in handling birth-related complications is crucial for reducing maternal and newborn morbidity and mortality. To achieve this, the Safer Births Bundle of Care offers a comprehensive set of innovative, simulation-based training interventions designed to strengthen the skills and competencies of HCWs working as skilled birth attendants.

Objective: To describe the use of low-dose, high-frequency simulation-based training, and the experiences of this usage among HCWs and stakeholders at facilities in Tanzania.

Background: This study assessed adolescent brain-behavior relationships between large-scale dynamic functional network connectivity (FNC) and an integrated attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) phenotype, including measures of inattention, impulsivity/hyperactivity and emotional dysregulation. Despite emotion dysregulation being a core clinical feature of ADHD, studies rarely assess its impact on large-scale FNC.

Methods: We conducted resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging in 78 adolescents (34 with ADHD) and obtained experimental and self-reported measures of inattention, impulsivity/hyperactivity, and emotional reactivity.

LSD1 inhibition improves efficacy of adoptive T cell therapy by enhancing CD8 T cell responsiveness.

The lysine-specific histone demethylase 1 A (LSD1) is involved in antitumor immunity; however, its role in shaping CD8 + T cell (CTL) differentiation and function remains largely unexplored. Here, we show that pharmacological inhibition of LSD1 (LSD1i) in CTL in the context of adoptive T cell therapy (ACT) elicits phenotypic and functional alterations, resulting in a robust antitumor immunity in preclinical models in female mice. In addition, the combination of anti-PDL1 treatment with LSD1i-based ACT eradicates the tumor and leads to long-lasting tumor-free survival in a melanoma model, complementing the limited efficacy of the immune or epigenetic therapy alone.
