Use of an elevated platform with perforated surface and manure belt by fast-growing broilers on commercial farms.

Like other members of the species Gallus gallus, fast-growing broilers are motivated to perch. However, broilers in the European Union are kept in unstructured barns, with no opportunity to sit elevated and rest undisturbed. A possible solution to this problem is elevated platforms.

Violence against health personnel before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Objective: Violence in the workplace has been an alarming phenomenon around the world. The aim of this study was to analyze the frequency of violence against health personnel in urgent and emergency departments, before and during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Methods: This is an exploratory cross-sectional study including a structured online survey with the approval of the Research Ethics Committee.

Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the potential of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) recovery from bite marks in foods, in different collection types, from DNA quantification.

Materials And Methods: The sample consisted of 80 swabs, obtained from 20 cheese pieces, bitten by the same person, using the double-swab technique in the center and the periphery of the bite. A statistical analysis was carried out using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) statistical software version 20.

[Assessment of competencies of community health workers for epidemiological data collection].

The scope of this study was to assess competencies in terms of reading, comprehension and problem-solving using educational material created for epidemiological research on people with disabilities. A form with twenty multiple-choice questions was prepared and distributed to a sample of 348 community health workers (CHWs) in the State of Paraíba. The socioeconomic profile revealed that, within the sample, most of these CHWs are female, between 30-49 years of age, married or in a stable relationship, with two children and have graduated from high school.

[Surveillance System for Violence and Accidents (VIVA) and notification of infant-juvenile violence in the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) in Feira de Santana in the state of Bahia].

The scope of the study is to analyze data of children and adolescents who are the victims of different forms of violence, registered in the Surveillance System for Violence and Accidents (VIVA/MS) in Feira de Santana in the state of Bahia, Brazil. The total number of records, since the implementation of VIVA in the city (01/2009 to 01/2011) was used and the analyses sought associations between characteristics of violence and profiles of victims and perpetrators. The results showed that children and adolescents were molested using different types of violence, including the use of physical force, verbal threats and weapons and sundry cases of personal injury.
