Piscirickettsiosis causes the highest mortality in Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) farming, and prophylactic treatment has not provided complete protection to date. In this study, we analyzed the immune and metabolic responses of Atlantic salmon inoculated with live and inactivated Piscirickettsia salmonis, monitoring plasma markers related to immune and stress responses. The fish were inoculated with inactivated P.

Introduction: Diagnosing and managing biochemical recurrence (BCR) of prostate cancer (PCa) following primary radical treatment remain a challenge. Implementing next-generation imaging (NGI) techniques has improved metastases detection. However, access to these techniques is heterogeneous, and controversies surround their use and subsequent treatment decisions.

Importance: There is limited understanding of the relationship between social determinants of health (SDOH) and types of overactive bladder/urgency urinary incontinence (OAB/UUI) treatments.

Objectives: Our objective was to determine if OAB/UUI treatment type differs by SDOH, including insurance and estimated median household income (EMHI).

Study Design: This was a cross-sectional study of adult patients assigned female at birth with OAB/UUI, identified from 2017 to 2022 within a tertiary academic health system.

Article Synopsis
  • The study focuses on understanding how IgG antibody levels against SARS-CoV-2 behave over time in a group of people from Puerto Rico, especially in relation to vaccination and prior infections.
  • Researchers conducted a longitudinal analysis with participants providing regular samples for testing from June 2020 to August 2022, allowing them to assess how antibody levels changed based on factors like vaccination status and the timing of infections.
  • Findings revealed that a significant majority of participants showed increased antibody prevalence by the end of the study, with vaccinations contributing substantially to IgG levels, while a third booster dose was effective in enhancing and prolonging antibody response.

The main objective of this work is to investigate the influence of shear on the rheological properties and physical stability of aqueous dispersions of flaxseed fiber. The variable to consider will be the homogenization rate in two different rotor-stator homogenizers, Ultraturrax T50 or T25. In order to achieve the proposed objective, small amplitude oscillatory tests, flow curves, and multiple light scattering measurements were carried out.
