Objectives: Glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1 RAs) are now widely used for treating type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) and obesity. We examined their association with acetonemic vomiting, especially when given to patients with low body weight, in hopes of achieving early recognition of this complication which is potentially life-threatening if not dealt with appropriately.

Methods: Cases identified incidentally are described and discussed referring to prior reports.

Purpose: The performance of endoscopic evaluation of ulcerative colitis (UC) using conventional scoring, including Mayo endoscopic subscore (MES) and ulcerative colitis endoscopic index of severity (UCEIS), is not satisfactory. Recently, the usefulness of novel image-enhanced endoscopy (IEE) such as texture and color enhancement imaging (TXI) and red dichromatic imaging (RDI) has been reported in the endoscopic evaluation of UC. We evaluated the performance of IEEs in UC, particularly focusing on the correlation with MES and UCEIS, and prediction of relapse.

Transitions seen in the electric properties of water-absorbable poly(2,5-benzimidazole) (ABPBI) films were confirmed by electric conductivity, dielectric constant, and time-domain nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) measurements. The electric resistance of the films was measured at room temperature using a high-resistance meter, and the dielectric constant at room temperature was measured using an LCR meter in the frequency range of 90 Hz to 8 MHz.
