[Psychosocial stress and cardiology].

Psychosocial stress is a major independent risk and prognostic factor of cardiovascular events. It includes psychological, sociological and socioeconomic factors. Cardiovascular diseases are important providers of psychosocial stress.

[From Neandertal to therapeutic education].

Therapeutic education will be part of every patient's care. It is not an additional tool in the medical care but a new way to consider the relationship between patients and physicians. In therapeutic education, the medical knowledge transfer is essential but probably insufficient to obtain a real change in the patient's behaviour.

Pulmonary hypertension and dexfenfluramine.

Appetite suppressants, including aminorex and fenfluramine, have been associated with pulmonary hypertension ever since the well-known outbreak of primary pulmonary hypertension in Europe after treatment with aminorex. The usage of a new anorectic agent, dexfenfluramine, has recently increased dramatically in developed countries. We report 2 new cases of lethal pulmonary hypertension associated with the use of dexfenfluramine.
