Phenotypic and epigenetic heterogeneity in FGFR2-fused glial and glioneuronal tumours.

Aims: FGFR-fused central nervous system (CNS) tumours are rare and are usually within the glioneuronal and neuronal tumours or the paediatric-type diffuse low-grade glioma spectrum. Among this spectrum, FGFR2 fusion has been documented in tumours classified by DNA-methylation profiling as polymorphous low-grade neuroepithelial tumours of the young (PLNTY), a recently described tumour type. However, FGFR2 fusions have also been reported in glioneuronal tumours, highlighting the overlapping diagnostic criteria and challenges.

Biofilm growth dynamics in a micro-irrigation with reclaimed wastewater in the field scale.

The dripper clogging due to the development of biofilm can reduce the benefits of micro-irrigation technology implementation using reclaimed wastewater. The narrow cross-section and labyrinth geometry of the dripper channel enhance the fouling mechanisms. The aim of this study was to evaluate the water distribution and biofouling of drip irrigation systems at the field scale during irrigation with treated wastewater.

High methane potential of oxygenic photogranules decreases after starvation.

Oxygenic photogranules (OPG) are granular biofilms that can treat wastewater without external aeration, making it an advantage over activated sludge. Excess of OPG biomass can serve as energy source through anaerobic digestion. Two sequencing batch photoreactors were operated over 400 days to grow OPG.

PCSK7: A novel regulator of apolipoprotein B and a potential target against non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

Background: Epidemiological evidence links the proprotein convertase subtilisin/kexin 7 (PCSK7) to triglyceride (TG) metabolism. We associated the known PCSK7 gain-of-function non-coding SNP rs236918 with higher levels of plasma apolipoprotein B (apoB) and the loss-of-function coding variant p.Pro777Leu (SNP rs201598301) with lower apoB and TG.
