Introduction: Evidence-based practice (EBP) is an important component of clinical practice in public health. Its implementation involves interpreting scientific studies and then applying this knowledge to clinical decision-making. In Germany, the therapy professions are often trained in non-academic medical schools, and only a small number of therapists are university graduates.

Spectral induced polarization signatures of smoldering remediation enhanced with colloidal activated carbon: An experimental study.

Monitoring the remediation of soil and groundwater contaminated by organic compounds remains highly challenging. Thermal treatments, such as smoldering combustion, have become established remediation techniques for destroying contaminants. Smoldering combustion can now be supported by colloidal activated carbon (CAC), with CAC being able to both adsorb contaminants and supplement the fuel source for destroying them.

Wastewater treatment plants are accumulation points for per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), and are threfore important facilities for PFAS treatment. This study explored using smouldering combustion to treat PFAS in sewage sludge. Base case experiments at the laboratory scale (LAB) used dried sludge mixed with sand.

Objective: This study aimed to compare the prevalence and incidence of vocal fold pathologies among undergraduate classical, musical theatre, and contemporary commercial music (CCM) students over two-time points.

Methods: This study is part of a longitudinal investigation. Videostroboscopic examinations were rated, with consensus among three of four expert blinded raters confirming the presence of pathology.
