During post chemotherapy surgery for ovarian cancer, it is important to ensure that any residual disease is carefully assessed and removed. The assessment remains subjective, despite clear evidence of the benefits of complete macroscopic resection. In this work, we have considered Raman spectroscopy as a possible tool for residual disease assessment by exploring its ability to correctly classify ovarian cancer from benign and borderline tissues.

Due to the inherent nature of service in both military and medical careers, some veterans are drawn to medicine after completing military service. However, there are significant financial and academic barriers for veterans applying into medical fields. Average grade point average (GPA) and Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) score are two heavily weighted metrics in the medical school application process.

This Letter presents a search for highly ionizing magnetic monopoles in 262  μb^{-1} of ultraperipheral Pb+Pb collision data at sqrt[s_{NN}]=5.36  TeV collected by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. A new methodology that exploits the properties of clusters of hits reconstructed in the innermost silicon detector layers is introduced to study highly ionizing particles in heavy-ion data.

Older patients have disproportionally poorer survival outcomes for ovarian cancer in the UK. Half of new diagnoses occur in those aged >65 years. Older patients are more likely to have other medical comorbidities reducing their fitness to receive chemotherapy or undergo cytoreductive surgery resulting in fewer patients receiving treatment.

Regulatory T (Treg) cells contribute to solid organ cancer progression, except in colorectal cancer (CRC) despite being abundantly present. Here, we demonstrate that two distinct tumoral IL-10⁺ and IL-10⁻ Treg cell subsets exert opposing functions by counteracting and promoting CRC tumor growth, respectively. The tumor restraining activity of IL-10⁺ Treg cells was mediated by their suppression of effector CD4 T cell production of IL-17, which directly stimulates CRC tumor cell proliferation.
