Purpose: The goal of this study was to evaluate the clinical and radiological outcome after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair using new carbonfiber reinforced polyetheretherketone (CF-PEEK) suture anchors.
Methods: One hundred (n=100) patients with rotator cuff tears were enrolled at seven French hospitals between July 2019 and June 2020. Pain levels, Constant score and Subjective Shoulder Value (SSV) were taken preoperatively and 6months postoperatively.
Teduglutide, a GLP-2 analogue, has been available in France since 2015 to treat short-bowel-syndrome (SBS)-associated chronic intestinal failure (CIF) but it remains very expensive. No real-life data on the number of potential candidates are available. The aim of this real-life study was to assess teduglutide initiation and outcomes in SBS-CIF patients.

Bertolotti's syndrome is a little-known and little-discussed pathology. We report the case of a 13-year-old child diagnosed with Bertolotti's syndrome after several years of functional complaints. Conventional radiography was used to diagnose the transverse mega-apophysis of L5, while sectional and functional imaging confirmed a lumbosacral-iliac impingement.

Doctors and nurses, in particular, talk of the strong emotions which they feel but which they find difficult to express. Being aware of them is essential for being able to accept them and limit their consequences.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA microfluidic microreactor for trypsin mediated transthyretin (TTR) digestion has been developed as a step towards the elaboration of a fully integrated microdevice for the detection of a rare and disabling disease, the familial transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR) which is related to specific TTR mutations. Therefore, an enzymatic microreactor coupled to an analytical step able to monitor the mutation of TTR on specific peptide fragments would allow an accurate monitoring of the treatment efficiency of ATTR. In this study, two types of immobilized trypsin microreactors have been investigated: a new miniaturized, microfluidic fluidized bed packed with trypsin functionalized magnetic particles (MPs), and a thiol-ene (TE) monolith-based chip.
