Studies have reported the emergence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSD) due to surgery. In fact, the usfige of long-shafted instruments has been suspected to induce WMSD in laparoscopic surgery. The present study therefore investigated whether differences in the range of motion of the face and neck, and the shoulder, elbow and hand on the dominant hand side, existed when using short- and long-shafted laparoscopic coagulation shears (LCS) during a gynecological laparoscopic surgery, based on images analyzed using artificial intelligence.

Hepatic mobilization is essential in debulking surgery for resecting diaphragmatic lesions in advanced ovarian cancer. However, hepatic mobilization potentially induces postoperative portal vein thrombosis and hepatic infarction. Objective: Total parietal peritonectomy is gradually being recognized as a surgical option for advanced ovarian cancer; however, evidence regarding its efficacy and safety remains insufficient. Herein, we aimed to assess the short- and long-term post-operative safety profiles of total parietal peritonectomy.

We herein report a case of ovarian cancer recurrence detected every time with symptoms of remitting seronegative symmetrical synovitis with pitting edema (RS3PE) syndrome. A 46-year-old woman who had a history of ovarian cancer 9 months earlier developed joint pain along with pitting edema in both hands and was diagnosed with RS3PE syndrome. Two and four years after initial surgery for ovarian cancer, symptoms of RS3PE syndrome appeared, and a recurrent site was detected.
