: The integration of maternal and child health services (MCH) with routine immunization is an important global health strategy, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). However, evidence is lacking regarding the best practices for service integration and the effect of integration on immunization and linked health service outcomes. : We searched publication databases and gray literature for articles published between 2011 and 2020 that include approaches to integrating MCH services with immunizations during the first two years of life in LMICs.

Concurrent preoperative eribulin and radiation for resectable retroperitoneal liposarcoma: a phase 1B study.

Background Management of retroperitoneal liposarcoma (RPLPS) is challenging and recurrence rates remain high despite aggressive surgical resections. Preoperative radiation alone lacks definitive benefit, thus we sought to evaluate combined chemoradiotherapy with the potential to enhance local efficacy of radiation as well as control micrometastatic disease. We assessed the safety and tolerability of preoperative eribulin, a cytotoxic microtubule inhibitor approved for the treatment of advanced liposarcoma, in combination with radiation in patients with RPLPS.

Aβ40 Fibril Assembly on Human Cerebral Smooth Muscle Cells Impairs Cell Viability.

Cerebral vascular deposition of the amyloid-β (Aβ) peptide, a condition known as cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA), is associated with intracerebral hemorrhaging and contributes to disease progression in Alzheimer's disease (AD) and vascular cognitive impairment and dementia (VCID). Familial mutations at positions 22 and 23 within the Aβ peptide lead to early onset and severe CAA pathology. Here, we evaluate the effects of fibrillar Aβ peptides on the viability of primary-cultured human cerebral smooth muscle (HCSM) cells, which are the major site of amyloid deposition in cerebral blood vessel walls.

Adolescents and Young Adults with Germline CDH1 Variants and the Risk of Overtreatment.

Background: Adolescents and young adults (AYA) with germline CDH1 variants are at risk of overtreatment when precancer lesions are detected with endoscopic screening. We characterize diffuse-type gastric cancer prevalence and survival in AYA managed with prophylactic total gastrectomy (PTG) or endoscopic surveillance.

Methods: Prospective cohort study of 188 individuals aged 39 and younger enrolled from January 27, 2017, to May 1, 2023.
