We describe favourable trophic changes observed at different levels of the patient's cornea, particularly in the sub-basal nerve plexus; complete absence of these neurological structures was observed before surgery, but appeared largely restored six months thereafter.

Objective: To evaluate the implementation of a strategy for the management of nonmetastatic unilateral retinoblastoma in children based on standardized diagnostic and treatment criteria.
Design, Setting, And Participants: This single-arm prospective study applied a strategy based on a single-center experience.
Background: Purinergic receptors are expressed in different tissues including the retina. These receptors are involved in processes like cell growth, proliferation, activation and survival. ATP is the major activator of P2 receptors.
