An overlengthening from 2 mm is visible due to widening of the anterolateral ulnohumeral joint space but intraoperatively, this particular joint space is difficult to visualize. The commonly used Kocher approach allows visualization of the posterolateral joint space without additional instruments or further surgical release of the already unstable elbow.
