Background: This study compares the efficacy and safety of single autologous stem cell transplantation (ASCT) versus tandem ASCT for multiple myeloma (MM) patients in the era of novel agents.

Methods: A total of 112 high-risk MM patients were included (single ASCT, (n = 57) or tandem ASCT(n = 55) in this retrospective multicenter study. Responses and outcomes were evaluated.

Dioscin is a natural plant-derived steroidal saponin that exerts antitumor effects in multiple cancers. It is widely involved in multiple apoptotic pathways and exerts its anti-tumor effects. In this study, we discovered that Dioscin treatment increased the expression of Noxa, thereby inducing the apoptosis of OSCC cells.

Unveiling the shared genes between systemic sclerosis and lung cancer.

The risk of lung cancer is significantly increased in patients with systemic sclerosis (SSc), yet the specific genes underlying this association remain unexplored. Our study aims to identify genes shared by SSc and lung cancer. We identified differentially expressed genes (DEGs) from SSc and lung adenocarcinoma (LUAD) datasets (SSc: GSE95065, LUAD: GSE136043) in the GEO database.

Liver B Cells Promotes MASLD Progression via the Apelin/APLNR System.

Investigate the role of the apelin/APLNR axis in metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), focusing on the progression from metabolic dysfunction-associated simple steatotic liver (MASS) to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) and fibrosis, with emphasis on liver B cells. Serum samples from MASLD patients and liver tissues from hepatocellular carcinoma patients were collected to measure apelin and APLNR protein expression. C57BL/6J mouse models of varying MASLD stages were developed using a high-fat diet and CCl.

2,3:6,7‒Naphthalenediimide-based Chiral Triangular Macrocycle: Self-Assembled Helix, Outer π-surface Directed Co-assembly and Circularly Polarized Luminescence.

Here, we report the synthesis and self-assembly of a novel chiral 2,3:6,7‒naphthalenediimide-based triangular macrocycle (NDI-∆) and their chiroptical properties. The enantiomeric NDI-∆ is synthesized by condensation of (RR) or (SS)-trans-1,2-cyclohexanediamine and 2,3,6,7-naphthalenetetracarboxylic 2,3:6,7-dianhydride, in which the chirality of the macrocycles is controlled by the diamine. With the rigid outer π-surface, the macrocycle showed unique chiroptical properties and self-assembly modes.
