Robotic-Assisted Microsurgery in Gender-Affirming Phalloplasty.

Genital gender-affirming masculinization surgeries require handling of small vessels and nerves handling in deep planes. Since the introduction of the Symani Surgical System for robotic-assisted microsurgery in clinical practice, its value in handling small and deep vessels via additional distal motion axes, motion scaling, and tremor elimination has been demonstrated. We combined the Symani with the robotic exoscope RoboticScope to achieve maximum flexibility and ergonomics for the microsurgeon.

The vasectomy is a safe and effective method of contraception for men. Up to 6% of men who underwent vasectomy have a renewed child wish. Microsurgical vasectomy reversal (VR) in men, microsurgical epididymal sperm aspiration (MESA), or testicular sperm extraction (TESE) in men plus assisted reproductive technology (ART) in the female partner as well as the combination of VR and MESA/TESE plus ART represent established therapeutic strategies.

Uncovering the heritable components of multimorbidities and disease trajectories using a nationwide cohort.

Quantifying the contribution of genetics and environmental effects on disease initiation and progression, as well as the shared genetics of different diseases, is vital for the understanding of the disease etiology of multimorbidities. In this study, we leverage nationwide Danish registries to provide a granular atlas of the genetic origin of disease phenotypes for a cohort of all Danes 1978-2018 with partially known pedigree (n = 6.3 million).

S2k-Guideline Non-hormonal Contraception, Part 2: Intrauterine Devices and Sterilization: Guideline of the DGGG, OEGGG and SGGG (S2k-Level, AWMF Registry No. 015 - 095, January 2024).

This official guideline was published and coordinated by the DGGG, OEGGG and SGGG with the involvement of other medical societies. The aim was to provide a consensus-based overview of non-hormonal forms of contraception based on an evaluation of the relevant literature. The first part of these summarized statements and recommendations presents natural family planning methods such as lactational amenorrhea, barrier methods and coitus interruptus.
