A Ten-year Review of Peritoneal Tuberculosis in Children at a Government Tertiary Hospital.

Background: Peritoneal tuberculosis comprises 5% of all forms of tuberculosis in children. There are limited reports of peritoneal TB in children.

Objective: To determine the clinical, biochemical, radiologic, histologic, and microbiologic features and outcome of pediatric patients diagnosed with peritoneal tuberculosis.

Structural and Theoretical Assessment of Covalency in a Pu(III) Borohydride Complex.

Despite the discovery of actinide borohydride complexes over 80 years ago, no plutonium borohydride complexes have been structurally validated using single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD). Here we describe Pu(HBPBuBH), the first example of a Pu(III) borohydride complex authenticated by XRD and NMR spectroscopy. Theoretical calculations (DFT, EDA, and QTAIM) and experimental comparisons of metal-boron distances suggest that metal-borohydride covalency in M(HBPBuBH) complexes generally decreases in the order M = U(III) > Pu(III) > Ln(III).

Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma of the Bile Ducts Causing Obstructive Jaundice in a Child: A Case Report.

Jaundice in older children can occur when any obstruction is found within the bile ducts, either from bile stones, parasites, choledochal cysts and rarely, secondary to tumors. We present a previously well, 10-year-old Filipino boy with three-week history of progressive jaundice and tea-colored urine, and was initially assessed to have biliary ascariasis. Ultrasound showed a heterogeneous focus spanning the gallbladder neck and confirmed on endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography as an exophytic mass at the ampulla of Vater.
