Background: The goal of cytoreductive surgery for peritoneal malignancy is to remove all macroscopic disease, which occasionally requires the excision of the umbilicus. While the absence of the umbilicus can be aesthetically undesirable for patients, umbilical reconstruction is rarely performed due to the perceived complexity and increased risk of wound infections (Sakata et al. in Colorectal Dis 23:1153-1157, 2021).

Fibronectin (FN) is an extracellular matrix glycoprotein essential for the development and function of major vertebrate organ systems. Mutations in FN result in an autosomal dominant skeletal dysplasia termed corner fracture-type spondylometaphyseal dysplasia (SMDCF). The precise pathomechanisms through which mutant FN induces impaired skeletal development remain elusive.

MENDS-on-FHIR: leveraging the OMOP common data model and FHIR standards for national chronic disease surveillance.

Objectives: The Multi-State EHR-Based Network for Disease Surveillance (MENDS) is a population-based chronic disease surveillance distributed data network that uses institution-specific extraction-transformation-load (ETL) routines. MENDS-on-FHIR examined using Health Language Seven's Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (HL7 FHIR) and US Core Implementation Guide (US Core IG) compliant resources derived from the Observational Medical Outcomes Partnership (OMOP) Common Data Model (CDM) to create a standards-based ETL pipeline.

Materials And Methods: The input data source was a research data warehouse containing clinical and administrative data in OMOP CDM Version 5.

Visitor characteristics and changes in mental health stigma after attending the Mind Space mental health experience exhibition.

Introduction: Mind Space is an experiential mental health exhibition in Hong Kong, aiming to raise public awareness and provide education regarding mental health. This prepost study aimed to 1) examine the relationships between visitors' characteristics and their mental health stigma at baseline, and 2) provide a preliminary evaluation of the effectiveness of Mind Space in reducing stigma and promoting help-seeking attitudes toward mental health conditions.

Methods: We analyzed data from all consenting visitors who attended Mind Space between September 2019 and December 2021.
