Dynamics of a silicone oil drop submerged in a stratified ethanol-water bath.

We analyze numerically the Marangoni flow around an immiscible droplet submerged in a stably stratified mixture of ethanol and water. The linear stability analysis shows that the base flow undergoes a supercritical Hopf bifurcation that leads to oscillations. The theoretical prediction for the critical droplet radius is consistent with previous experimental results.

Concordance in psychopharmacological treatment before and after first mental health consultation.

Purpose: To analyse concordance between treatment prescribed before and after the first mental health consultation. We understand concordance in two different senses: first, as a similar amount of equivalent doses and drug type; second, as a similar treatment for each patient.

Method: This is an analytical, descriptive, retrospective study on psychopharmacological treatment before and after first mental health consultation of 1236 patients.

Analytical model for managing hypotony after implantation surgery of a glaucoma drainage device.

The main aim of glaucoma treatment is to reduce the intraocular pressure (IOP). One of the most common surgical treatments of glaucoma is the implantation of a glaucoma drainage device to drain the aqueous humor from the anterior chamber to a filtration bleb, where the aqueous humor is absorbed. In some cases, the excess of drainage causes ocular hypotony, which constitutes a sight-threatening complication.
