The seed coat plays a pivotal role in seed development and germination, acting as a protective barrier and mediating interac-tions with the external environment. Traditional histochemical techniques and analytical methods have provided valuable insights into seed coat composition and function. However, these methods often suffer from limitations such as indirect chemical signatures and lack of spatial resolution.

Visualising lipid content in a non-destructive label-free manner can aid in elucidating the AD phenotypes towards a better understanding of the disease. In this study, we combined multiple optical molecular-specific methods, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopic imaging, synchrotron radiation-infrared (SR-IR) microscopy, Raman and stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) microscopy, and optical-photothermal infrared (O-PTIR) microscopy with multivariate data analysis, to investigate the biochemistry of brain hippocampus in situ using a mouse model of tauopathy (rTg4510).

These properties are well studied for their intended biological targets, but there is a lack of understanding on the mechanisms by which AuNPs interact in non-target organisms when they enter the environment. We investigated the effects of size and surface chemistry of AuNPs on their bioavailability, tissue distribution and potential toxicity using zebrafish (Danio rerio) as an experimental model.

They are evaluated by their radiological and histological characteristics but it is challenging to find a link between their morphology, their composition and the nature of a specific type of breast lesion. Whilst there are some mammographic features that are either typically benign or typically malignant often the appearances are indeterminate.

Moreover, by integrating nonlinear optical signals such as stimulated Raman scattering (SRS), two-photon excited fluorescence (TPEF), and transient absorption (TA) into an imaging platform, it can be used to reveal biomolecular contrast of cellular structures and AuNPs in a multimodal manner. This article presents a multimodal nonlinear optical microscopy and applies it to perform chemically specific imaging of AuNPs in cancer cells.
