Background/objectives: Congenital melanocytic naevi (CMN) are a risk factor for melanoma. Melanoma risk is dependent on the congenital phenotype. Our primary aims were to assess the clinical characteristics of CMN that indicate a high risk of neurocutaneous melanosis (NCM) and melanoma in an Australian paediatric population group; to identify patient characteristics and clinical features of CMN that trigger further investigations; and to determine the rate of malignancy and other complications for CMN.

Objective: To elucidate the immediate electrophysiological effects of mirror visual feedback (MVF) combined with or without touch task in subacute stroke.

Methods: Subacute stroke patients and healthy controls were recruited to participate in four grasping tasks (MVF or no MVF, combined with rubber ball or no ball) under electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring. Event-related desynchronization (ERD) /event-related synchronization (ERS) and the lateralization index (LI) were utilized to observe the electrophysiological effects.

Electrochemical bioassays that rely on sensor interfaces based on immobilized DNA probes often encounter challenges such as complex fabrication processes and limited binding efficiency. In this study, we developed a novel electrochemical bioassay that bypasses the need for probe immobilization by employing a solution-phase nucleic acid reaction to create interfacial barriers on unmodified electrodes, enabling rapid, just-in-time sensor interface formation. Specifically, a 3'-phosphorylated recognition probe was used to identify the target microRNA-21 (miR-21), followed by target recycling facilitated by duplex-specific nuclease (DSN), which resulted in extensive hydrolysis of the recognition probe into DNA fragments with 3'-hydroxyl ends.

Hyaluronic acid filler treatment is increasingly prevalent in the realm of plastic surgery, serving to correct a range of facial changes resulting from aging. Nevertheless, with its expanded application, an uptick in complications has been observed. This article reported a 30-year-old female patient who received chin hyaluronic acid filler treatment 5 years ago started experiencing atrophy and progressive deterioration at the injection site a year ago.
