Violence, child abuse and neglect, which can lead to physical, psychological and social impairment and cause serious long-term consequences, are widespread throughout the world. The aim of our study is to examine the characteristics of the family and the emotional-behavioral difficulties of adolescents who were abused in childhood, compared with those who did not experience abuse. The aim of this study was to analyze risk factors present in schizophrenic patients with depressive symptomatology. The sample comprised of 76 respondents diagnosed with schizophrenia. In the study, we used the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS) and Calgary Depression Scale for Schizophrenia.

Introduction: Recent studies have shown a growing correlation between violence and mental illness, but there is a higher risk of violent crimes only in certain cases of mental disorders. This study presents sociodemographic and psychiatric characteristics of homicide offenders in Serbia, in the Province of Vojvodina in a 10-year period (1996-2005). Material and Methods~ The obtained data are based on performed forensic and psychiatric expert investigatfons of 154 homicide offenders in preceding period, considering sociodemographic data, personal history and current psychiatric status.
