Repair of damaged or faulty complex modular organs such as the urinary bladder is a current clinical challenge. The design of constructs for reconstructive urological surgery can draw advantage from the bioactivity of natural extracellular matrix (ECM) bioscaffolds, as well as the activity provided by cells seeded into constructs. Considering these benefits, this work compares the performance of pericardial ECM bioscaffolds and constructs seeded with gel-supported urothelial cells in the repair of urinary bladder defects in rabbits.

The incidence angle of the reference arm is carried out by two motorized actuators controlled by an algorithm that automatically adjusts it to avoid the overlapping of the spectral components. The right positioning of the spectral components allows selection of a spectral region to extract only the virtual component so that, after an inverse Fourier transformation, the object wave field can be obtained, thus eliminating the undesired components and increasing the image quality of the reconstructed image.

This report introduces the use of the second-harmonic generation (SHG) microscopy for imaging honey sugar crystals' morphology as an alternative for its authentication process. The crystals and their boundaries are clearly observed with SHG compared with bright-field microscopy, where the liquid honey avoids the visualization of a sharp image.

Finding the size and shape of cells is important since they tend to change in the presence of some pathologies. In this research work, we obtain the morphology thickness and refractive index of the A375 melanoma cell line through a slight tilting of the cell in a DHM setup.

In this manuscript, we propose an algorithm that reduces the number of pixels needed for an object's wave field trimming, reducing notably its processing time without significant changes in the quality of the reconstructed image. Our method generates an extraction window containing a complete object's wave field.
