Shoulder injuries, specifically proximal humeral fractures, are uncommon in skeletally immature patients. The anatomic characteristics of the humerus are determined by its ossification development, which is quite particular in the proximal segment where four principal segments have been outlined as fracture components in adults. Hereby, we present the case of an 18-year-old female who suffered a traffic accident that elicited a proximal humeral injury through the physeal line of the anatomical neck, as well as the treatment given and her clinical outcome with an effort to highlight the complexity of the diagnosis and management of this injury given the transitional bone age.

Although androgen deprivation is associated with survival benefits, it is also related to adverse effects such as osteoporosis, frailty, or sarcopenia, which can negatively affect the patient's quality of life. This study aims to quantify and evaluate the prevalence of osteoporosis, frailty, or sarcopenia in elderly PC patients before and after androgen deprivation.

The effectiveness of Methylobacterium symbioticum in maize and strawberry plants was measured under different doses of nitrogen fertilisation. The biostimulant effect of the bacteria was observed in maize and strawberry plants treated with the biological inoculant under different doses of nitrogen fertiliser compared to untreated plants (control). It was found that bacteria allowed a 50 and 25% decrease in the amount of nitrogen applied in maize and strawberry crops, respectively, and the photosynthetic capacity increased compared with the control plant under all nutritional conditions.

Introduction: This study analyzes the value of PSA kinetics, PSA speed (vPSA), and PSA doubling time (PSAdt), in patients with low-risk prostate cancer who are in an active surveillance (AS) program.

Methods: An observational, retrospective, and longitudinal study of a sample of 86 patients included in AS program between January 2014 and October 2021 was conducted. A review of their medical records was performed, and PSA kinetics were calculated, analyzing the causes of discontinuation of the AS program and its relationship with PSA kinetics.
