The Impact of Pudendal Nerve Injection in Vaginal Surgery: A Secondary Analysis.

Importance: Evidence regarding the effect of pudendal nerve blockade during vaginal surgery is conflicting. Previous studies compared pudendal nerve blockade to either normal saline placebo injection or no injection, demonstrating small or no difference in pain outcomes. Studies investigating nerve blocks at the time of vaginal surgery have not evaluated the effect of infiltration of the space around the pudendal nerve.

Triggers of fishing gear loss incidents in small-scale fisheries in Peru.

This study sought to identify the causes of gear loss and determine the main fishing grounds where losses occurred. Data were collected between 2003 and 2023 from 17 ports along the Peruvian coast. Of 8742 fishing sets analyzed, bottom longlines reported the most incidents, (n = 456 with 38,130 hooks lost) of gear loss.

Intensity of survivin expression linked to features of aggressive relapsed/refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.

SPiReL is a phase II clinical trial evaluating combination immunotherapy, pembrolizumab and cyclophosphamide, with maveropepimut-S, in survivin-expressing relapsed/refractory (R/R) Diffuse Large B Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL). We describe baseline tumor survivin expression and associations with clinico-pathological variables in 25 participants. The median number of survivin-expressing cells was 99%, and the intensity of survivin expression within tumors was heterogeneous by semi-quantitative immunohistochemistry assessment.

COVID-19 vaccine immunogenicity and safety surrounding fourth and subsequent vaccine doses in patients with hematologic malignancies.

Background: Immune response to COVID-19 vaccine is diminished in patients with hematologic malignancy. There is limited data regarding response to vaccine doses in these patients.

Purpose: To quantify the humoral immune response engendered by 4th and subsequent doses of SARS-CoV-2 vaccination as measured by anti-Spike (anti-S) antibody levels, based on dried blood spot (DBS) testing, in patients with hematologic malignancies.

Characterization of a Peruvian coastal fishery targeting the Pacific guitarfish Pseudobatos planiceps.

From December 2012 to June 2014, 796 Pacific guitarfish were caught in 183 fishing sets in northern Peru. Catch occurred in 86.3% of sets.
