Background: Advanced practice providers (APPs) are integral to the contemporary transplant surgeon-APP practice model. Patient understanding of APPs' role is vital for optimal patient care and experience. Data on patient knowledge of APPs' roles remain scarce.

We sought to evaluate the impact of a transplant surgeon-APP (TSAPP) practice model on patient access and outcomes in the care of critically ill patients with end-stage liver disease (ESLD) in an academic transplant center.
Methods: A retrospective analysis evaluated the effect of practice model evolution over an 11-year period on hospital access of patients with ESLD to an academic liver transplantation center and survival outcomes.
Background: Evidence and practice recommendations on the use of transanal total mesorectal excision (TaTME) for rectal cancer are conflicting.
Objective: We aimed to summarize best evidence and develop a rapid guideline using transparent, trustworthy, and standardized methodology.
Methods: We developed a rapid guideline in accordance with GRADE, G-I-N, and AGREE II standards.
Aims: Pediatric dilated cardiomyopathy (pDCM) is characterized by unique age-dependent molecular mechanisms that include myocellular responses to therapy. We previously showed that pDCM, but not adult DCM patients respond to phosphodiesterase 3 inhibitors (PDE3i) by increasing levels of the second messenger cAMP and consequent phosphorylation of phospholamban (PLN). However, the molecular mechanisms involved in the differential pediatric and adult response to PDE3i are not clear.

Post-COVID-19 cholangiopathy is a special entity of liver injury that has been suggested as a variant of secondary sclerosing cholangitis in critically ill patients (SSC-CIP). In the general population, the outcome of SSC-CIP has been reported to be poor without orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT).
