There is a paucity of information about the determinants of acid-base status of large felids managed under anesthesia, and advancement of such knowledge may contribute to patient safety. Case History: A kākāpō () chick hatched on an off-shore island of New Zealand with a small white mass protruding through the cranial skin of the head.
