Objective: The objective of our study was to characterize the temporal and clinical manifestation of major bleeding events after biopsy to guide clinicians in the institution of appropriate surveillance.
Materials And Methods: We performed a retrospective review of percutaneous image-guided biopsies performed between September 1, 2005, and May 31, 2012, including 18,947 biopsy events. According to routine protocol, follow-up telephone calls were made to patients 24 hours after biopsy, and chart review was performed 3 months after biopsy.
Background And Purpose: In acute hepatic encephalopathy, MR imaging abnormalities have been described in the PVWM, thalami, and corticospinal tracts. We sought to determine characteristic regions of involvement on FLAIR and DWI, to evaluate their reversibility, and to correlate MR imaging extent with clinical severity.
Materials And Methods: Twenty patients who presented clinically with acute hepatic encephalopathy and MR imaging <21 days after symptom onset were reviewed retrospectively.
Mutations in the ETR1 gene of the higher plant Arabidopsis confer insensitivity to ethylene, indicating a role for the gene product in ethylene signal perception and transduction. The ETR1 gene product has an amino-terminal hydrophobic domain and a carboxyl-terminal domain showing homology to the two-component signal transduction proteins of bacteria. We report here that in both its native Arabidopsis and when transgenically expressed in yeast, the ETR1 protein is isolated from membranes as a dimer of 147 kDa.
