We explored key microRNAs (miRNAs) related to tumorigenesis and immune modulation in glioblastoma (GBM), employing in silico, in vitro, and ex vivo analysis along with an assessment of the cellular impacts resulting from miRNA inhibition. GBM and T cells miRNA expression profiles from public datasets were used to evaluate differentially expressed miRNAs (DEmiRNAs). Some DEmiRNAs were chosen for validation in GBM cell lines, primary cell cultures, and brain tumor patient samples, using RT-qPCR.

We addressed this in a large pre-registered online survey including 613 mediators where we correlated participants' experience with fifty meditation techniques to psychotic-like experiences (PLEs) and mystical experiences. We found a positive correlation for both PLEs and mystical experiences with techniques aiming at reducing phenomenological content ('null-directed', NDM) or classified as non-dual or less embodied.

This chapter explores the complex interplay involving immune and metabolic dysfunction in the pathophysiology of these disorders, emphasizing their association with autoimmunity/inflammatory conditions, chronic low-grade systemic inflammation, T cell overactivation, and immunosenescence. This perspective underscores the notion that MDD and BD are not solely brain disorders, highlighting their nature as multi-system conditions.

The PII signaling proteins are ubiquitous in prokaryotes serving as crucial metabolic hubs in different metabolic pathways because of their ability to sense and integrate signals of the cellular nitrogen, carbon, and energy levels. In this study, we used ligand fishing assays to identify the ribonucleotide monophosphatase UmpH enzyme as a novel target of the PII signaling protein GlnK in Escherichia coli. In vitro analyses showed that UmpH interacts specifically with the PII protein GlnK but not with its paralog protein GlnB.
